Hello! I’m Jesica (yes, with one “s”) and I am the owner of Forever Whimsy Photography.
I bought my first “fancy camera” in 2011, taught myself photography and started FWP in 2015.
I genuinely love photography and I hope that is apparent to anyone who sees my work.
Also, I am a mom since 2011 and part-time psychiatric nurse since 2014.
My current gear:
Canon 5D Mark iii + Sigma 24mm 1.4 ART
Canon 6D + Canon 50mm 1.8
Canon 70-300mm 4-5.6
+ my heart ♥
Something I am very proud of as a photographer is placing 90 out of over 13,502 images in the category of “Creative/Personal Projects” in the Shoot & Share Photo Contest in 2018 for my image “Three Baby Robins” that was shot on my Canon 6D with Sigma 24mm 1.4 and macro filter.
I am also extremely lucky/happy that when I went to Renshaw Farms Sunflower Days (for the third time, I just loved it there!) with the Preston girls, a photojournalist was there and asked to take our info, she took a picture of us while I was taking a picture of them. It made it into the Pittsburgh Post Gazette – Sunday August 8, 2021 edition! Definitely one of the coolest things to ever happen!
I was absolutely THRILLED (insert screaming and heart beating 1000x per minute when I saw this!) to have had my image selected for second place in Minimalism in the Click Voice Competition in 2021 – Click’s Website. To see it in print, in Click Magazine, was the ultimate icing on the cake, as it is my first published photo!! In addition to that amazing prize, I will be applying for Click Pro. Very exciting!
